Next Choice

It started way back in two thousand-three
He married into an unknown family tree
She told all he’ll someday take the fall
Laughing as ready tomcats made their calls

She took a night job, and then went out to eat
Playing hide and seek with those she’d meet
He was blind to what was going on
Friends had her back covered by telephone

She knocked him off that lofty branch
Like an acrobat flying in an air show dance
The hit he took from her power line
Will go unnoticed till the end of time
He promised himself as he fell from her favor
Remember the ice cream, make his next choice
A peach of a flavor

She was a quick twister all their friends agreed
Traveling pole to pole at twenty-three
He could tell by her raised right-brow eye
She’d get rid of his dizzy punch-drunk style

She sold the stuff attracting bold houseflies
Flipped him a goodbye-you high held five
He landed down at the Pitch Fork Bar
Singing to the night owls, laughing after dark

She knocked him off that lofty branch
Like an acrobat flying in an air show dance
The hit he took from her power line
Will go unnoticed till the end of time
He promised himself as he fell from her favor
Remember the ice cream, make his next choice
A peach of a flavor

She was bored, he wanted to believe
In the lifestyle, they conceived
It was hopeless play, nothing to their days
No goals for the nest, giving half best
Enduring threats of the looney high flight test

She knocked him off that lofty branch
Like an acrobat flying in an air show dance
The hit he took from her power line
Will go unnoticed till the end of time
He promised himself as he fell from her favor
Remember the ice cream, make his next choice
A peach of a flavor
