The Who

“So many rules have been written
Since the time of a simpler game
A man’s word was his handshake
The pace brought positive change
These days we must remember
To apply right number four more
Shake hands with the braggarts
Trading bills on the bedroom floor

Most were fortunate youngsters
Taught to get needed rules right
Manners, knowledge, hard work
Were a beacon, their guiding light
Civil rights blood shot US thru haze
And we’ve wept for over two score
Let’s shake hands with the braggarts
Trading bills on the bedroom floor

Rules are imposed by our teachers
By employers drawing the well
Adding more for our awareness
May cause the flag effort to fail
Truth be known, if success is shown
To apply right number four more
We’ll shake hands with the braggarts
Performing on the bedroom floor”
