Mothers Day

It’s a special day on
the calendar’s face
Her expression lends itself
to a warm embrace
I’ll hug her then she’ll know
that we’ve got a date
Together once a year
when I’m feeling great

Sometimes sad, mostly gay
but she’s always there
I can tell by her actions
that she really cares
If I need her to uplift me
come she May
Springing blossoms forth
with her on this day

I’ll miss her when she’s gone
she’ll be back again
Feelings that she left me
will comfort me till when
She comes to me with
a twinkle in her eye
I’ll love each Mother’s Day
until the day to die.”
